Have a Powerful Ending
Ready
One of the best techniques to use to help
you successfully deliver your messages is to
always go into an interview with a 20-30
second ending statement that includes your
most important message. You can use this
"ending message" in both print and broadcast
interviews.
Print reporters may be confused by the
volume of information you give during the
interview. You should conclude the interview
with your powerful ending by saying, "The
most important thing your readers should
know (or do) is …"
Many interviewers end radio and TV talk
programs by asking, "Any final thoughts?" or
"Any final comments?" Don't hesitate.
Instead, jump right in and deliver the
powerful ending you prepared.
Don't leave success to chance. Preparation
is key, and preparing a powerful ending will
increase your chances of success.

to Get Your Messages Out. Feel free to

colleagues. I would like to hear from you
about using the techniques I discuss in my
book. Also, send me a note and let me know
if it is okay to share your comments with
others on this web page (to contact Steve go
